Privacy Policy

FrogBooks is a bookkeeping app made by White Ventures, LLC. This page explains, in plain language, what information the app handles and what we do — and don't do — with it.
What you give us
- An email address and password — used only to create and secure your account, so your books back up to the cloud and follow you to a new phone.
- Receipt photos and PDFs — the photos you snap or import, plus optional barcode photos. They're stored privately in your account.
- Your bookkeeping entries — the vendors, amounts, dates, categories, notes, and books that make up your records.
How receipt reading works
When you photograph a receipt, the image is sent securely to our server, where an AI service (Anthropic's Claude) reads it and extracts the vendor, amount, date, category, and line items. Under our commercial agreement, receipt images sent for reading are not used to train AI models. The extracted details are saved to your account as a normal entry, and the photo is kept with it.
Where your data lives
Your account, entries, and receipt photos are stored with Supabase, our cloud database provider, using industry-standard encryption in transit. Access is restricted to your account: each user's data is isolated so only you can read your books.
What we never do
- No bank linking — FrogBooks never asks for, receives, or stores bank credentials. That's a design decision, not a missing feature.
- No selling or sharing of your data — your records are not sold, rented, or shared with advertisers or data brokers.
- No ads and no third-party trackers in the app.
Exports are yours
Reports, spreadsheets, and receipt-book PDFs are created on your device and only leave the app when you choose to share them — for example, when you send a year-end export to your accountant.
Deleting your data
You can delete any entry, or an entire book with all of its entries and photos, inside the app. To delete your whole account and everything in it, see Delete Account. Deletion is permanent — we don't keep copies of deleted books or receipts.
Children
FrogBooks is a bookkeeping tool intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the current version will always be at frogbooks.app/privacy, with the effective date above updated.
